Considering what steps might be appropriate in terms of remedial action

Consider the most appropriate way to bring the potential human rights violation to an end. If you have a human rights policy, this should be consulted.

Immediate action is likely to be appropriate when there is disorder at your facilities, use of violence by or against you, or any improper financial transactions such as money laundering or financing of international crimes.

Possibilities for remedial action will be influenced, in part, by any contact already initiated with public authorities and third parties. One condition for leniency will often be that the organisation should immediately cease the conduct.  If local stakeholders or non-governmental organisations have been informed, they may be able to render assistance in remedial action.
